PITHY QUOTE FROM Women Writers

Open quotes
It had long been the fashion to talk of liberty, and to dispute on hypothetical and logical points of political economy; and these disputations disseminated gleams of truth, and generated more demagogues than had ever appeared in any modern city.

The Works of Mary Wollstonecraft. Volume 6, An Historical and Moral View of the French Revolution

Women Writers

InteLex's Women Writers collection is a growing collection of full-text databases, each with the works and/or correspondence of important authors such as Jane Austen, Aphra Behn, Charlotte Bronte, Fanny Burney, Mary Shelley and Mary Wollstonecraft. Where possible, texts are definitive critical editions from distinguished academic publishers. Where critical editions are not yet available, the series reproduces the original titles (in the Works of Jane Addams, for example). In all cases, the databases include the critical apparatus from the print versions.

New titles presently in process include Colonial Women Writers.
